Anyone not feeling well or experiencing Covid-19 symptoms must stay home.

Please read and follow the SAY East Covid-19 Protocols.  Be sure to wear a mask and stay socially distanced when going to a SAY East game.

Spectators

  • Spectators must conduct daily symptom assessments.  Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home.
  • Spectators must wear face coverings at all times.  Spectators choosing not to wear masks must stay in their car.
  • Family members must sit together but must maintain six-feet social distancing from other individuals/family groups.
  • No congregating before or after practices or games is permitted.  Do not approach field of play until prior spectators have exited.   Exit promptly upon completion of the game.

Coaches

  • Coaches must (1) Participate in COVID-19 education developed for them by the Ohio Department of Health, and (2) Educate their players on how to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 using resources provided by the Ohio Department of Health. This training can be found at https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/responsible-restart-ohio/sector-specific-operating-requirements/coaches-and-student-athletes
  • No congregating before or after practices or games by players, coaches, spectators, parents or officials is permitted.  Do not approach or enter field of play until prior teams have exited.  Players, coaches, and officials are not to physically contact each other before or after practice, pregame and competitive play (i.e., greetings, team huddles, high-fives, congregating, etc.).  Upon completion of your game exit the field promptly.
  • Coaches, volunteers, and officials must wear face coverings at all times, and players must wear face coverings when not on the field or court of play.  Coaches and officials are not required to wear facial coverings when on the field of play during games and practices to allow the use of whistles.
  • Coaches must have a parent/volunteer help monitor and ensure social distancing on teams of young children.
  • Remind players about social distancing and identify markers.  Encourage your players to focus on building their individual skills and cardiovascular conditioning, so they can limit close contact with other players.  Six-feet social distance must be maintained between individuals except when necessary on the field or court of play.
  • Players and coaches must conduct daily symptom assessments before each practice or game.
  • Send a welcome email or call parents and/or players.  Remind them to stay home if sick or if they have been around someone who is sick.  Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home.  Communicate the rules for Spectators listed below.
  • Be a role model. Wear a cloth face cover and encourage parents, fans, officials, and sports staff to wear one during practices and games.  You are responsible for ensuring the Spectators for your team wear masks and observe social distancing.
  • Promote good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette. Provide hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol to players before and after practice/game, or encourage them to wash their hands with soap and water.  Clean and disinfect shared equipment.  Do not share towels or facial coverings. Do not share water bottles or other drinks.  Do not share food.  Educate players about covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their elbow. Discourage spitting.

Changes to Game Day Procedures

  • There will be no coin flip or equipment check at the middle of the field prior to the game.  Each ref will go to a team (when you get paid prior to the game) and do an equipment check.  The referee will ask everyone if they are feeling well.
  • The visiting team will kick off first and third quarter.  Home team will select which end of the field they wish to defend to start the game (to be rotated each quarter).  Home team will kick off second and fourth quarter.
  • Spectators must sit at least six feet away from the field.  Spectators may sit all the way down the sidelines but not behind the goals.
  • There will be no post game handshakes.
